Honda recognized in the Sustainable Business Awards 2019

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) received a special recognition for Supply Chain Management at the Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) Philippines 2019 in The Peninsula Manila.

The SBA recognizes the outstanding sustainability leadership of businesses in the region. Organized by Global Initiatives, the SBA’s second run in the Philippines was conducted in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers Philippines and Business for Sustainable Development (formerly Philippine Business for the Environment). It also aims to promote sustainable business best practices and highlight the benefits to the environment, all stakeholders, and the companies who engage in them. Initiatives were assessed based on process and performance across twelve categories: Strategy and Sustainability Management; Workforce; Community; Energy management; Water Management; Waste Management and Material Productivity; Climate Change; Supply Chain Management; Land-use and Biodiversity; Business Responsibility and Ethics, Stakeholder Engagement and Materiality, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Honda aims to realize a global supply chain that co-exists and co-prospers with local communities in order to become “a company that society wants to exist.” Sustainability themes of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Development and Environment (QCDDE), human rights, labor, safety, compliance, risk, and protection of information, among others, are embedded into the supplier selection and performance evaluation standards, and validated through audits. Outstanding suppliers are then recognized annually in the Suppliers’ Conference.
